This is the project I taught at Beki Haley’s Bead Dreamer’s Retreat in San Diego, CA. You might recognize the elements from other projects I’ve taught at Village Beads. The center “pod” is from the Portland Bead Society’s 2016 retreat project “March at the Beach”. The pressed glass flowers which surround it are mounted on a herringbone base right out of the Arabesque project. Even the edging
on that base is taken from the Arabesque. That being said, this is not an easy-peasy project, but it goes together well, and if you’ve taken my previous classes, you’ll manage nicely. You can make a medallion in a day’s class. You can choose whether you want to buy a kit, or choose your own colors. The medallion by itself makes a lovely pendant or centerpiece for a necklace or bracelet. If you’re not familiar with my previously taught projects, this one combines flat circular herringbone with tubular herringbone, fringed edging, and several kinds of beaded picots. The level is intermediate to advanced.
